From 18 January to 14 March 2021, GREEN at Hotel ICON proudly presents “Valentine’s in Paris” Afternoon Tea in first collaboration with renowned French brand Elle & Vire, Ile de France and Luxury Chocolate Brand La Maison du Chocolat. The decadent afternoon tea is available all along Valentine’s Day, Lunar New Year and the White Valentine’s Day. Acknowledging that people are staying in Hong Kong for Valentine’s Day, GREEN brings the Eiffel Tower from Paris, the City of Light, to the restaurant! Couples can indulge in the gorgeous greenery of the indoor vertical garden, one of Asia’s largest, as if they are in the walkable garden of Eiffel Tower in the middle of Paris.
Danny Ho, Executive Pastry Chef of Hotel ICON, made use of dairy products from the renowned French brand Elle & Vire to take diners on a taste bud adventure. For the colorful and eye-catching Mixed Berries Heart-shaped Chocolate, the Chef smears the chocolate with a flawless mirror glaze by the sensational mixed berry coulis to give an artwork of ingenuity. Strawberry Rose Tart decorated with layers of pinkish rose petals is a perfect expression of the rosy love of youths. The Tahitian Vanilla Panna Cotta is served with light and refreshing strawberry coulis over the silky and creamy milk pudding which leaves a lingering milky taste in the mouth. Another refreshing choice would be the Mango Cheese cake for which the Chef makes a non-traditional turn by employing the highly popular cream cheese. As a result, the cheese flavour of the cake becomes much richer and creamier and institutes a sweet and sour taste to the entire afternoon tea set.
To echo the conception of this afternoon tea, an array of classic French pastry desserts are prepared. The French palmier with the hotel recipe is fed with rich and creamy cheese and accentuated with a remarkable buttery flavor, delivering a classic and traditional French pleasure to guests. In the Fraise Macaroon with Champagne Jelly, a light aroma of champagne reinterprets macaron and creates an excellent balance to its sugary taste. The afternoon tea event, having the celebrated French luxury chocolate brand La Maison du Chocolat as a collaborative partner, also introduces their signature Milk Praline Chocolate as one of the dessert dishes to offer a reminiscing tasty experience.
