About Baan Restaurant “Thai Family Recipes”
The word BAAN means home in Thai and home is where the heart is and where the restaurant’s story begins. Baan‘s unfussy name was chosen to reflect the restaurant‘s concept of family recipes with classic flavours by the two co-owner brothers – Chef Thitid ‘Ton’ Tassanakajohn and Chaisiri Tassanakajohn – as remembered from their grandparent‘s dining table.
At Baan, Chef Thitid retreats from the modernist culinary techniques he has mastered in New York’s Michelin-starred restaurants including Eleven Madison Park and Jean Georges, in favor of homey, everyday Thai meals. Co-owned by his younger brother, Chaisiri Tassanakajohn, Baan dishes out unpretentious food, made with sustainably sourced local ingredients from trusted growers, which prove that chic, high-quality dining can be delivered at pocket-friendly prices.
